This thing is awesome. I got the black one to go with the color of my deck and its very cute. It has a nice wood grain look and its so well made and simple to put together and it has easy to understand instructions (no tools needed). Its also pretty sturdy. I’m using it to grow herbs outside that I plan to bring into my basement for the winter, so I can stop spending so much money on grocery store bunches of herbs I never fully use up. Only caution is that is a good size but its not huge. I think I’m going to be able to grow about 8-10 bunches of herbs in it. So if you’re planning to grow a lot, you may need more than one. Otherwise, I honestly love this thing. The water indicator and little seedling planter is perfect (the seedling planter has holes for drainage…they thought of everything). Also the extra water collects in the bottom but doesn’t just pour out…you have to pull the rubber plug to do it….which is great because 1) I don’t want dirty water all over my deck and 2) the water can be saved for re-watering because its nutrient rich. Last point, its a very nice finish plastic so doesn’t look cheesy or cheap. Usually I only like wood, metal, etc…but this almost looks like stained wood panels and will be much, much easier to clean and will last forever without maintenance. Trust me, I’m picky as hell about decor items and functionality and this is a really cute piece for being plastic. Its a definite buy and thanks to the manufacturer for building a good quality, very cute, very environmentally friendly planter. And the little shelf underneath helps to hide our ugly deck light switch and holds my watering can and citronella candles…sooo awesome! Thank you!!!

Overly impressed! Packaging was great, good directions and lotsa extra hardware in the event you lose something. Tip- Plan to take sometime putting together but fun doing it

Update: I now have 8 of these raised beds by Vego as of July 2025. My first Vego raised bed from 2022 is going strong and looks like new, even with mowing and weed whacking around it. Nothing damages these raised beds.Original review: Over the course of two years I’ve increased to 6 of these Vego Garden raised beds, a real upgrade from the wood bed and random pots I’d been growing vegetables in. The quality is excellent. The materials aren’t flimsy and the beds are sturdy and maintain their shape when filled with dirt. Assembly is tedious, but not a complete deal breaker. The first time ever assembling one took awhile, but now it takes me a little over an hour of continuous work to assemble one completely. Speed of assembly greatly increased when Vego switched to a nut design that had the washer already attached to it, versus having to put a separate washer and nut on each bolt. I think assembly would be easier if I had some sort of ratcheting wrench or even a drill with a socket attachment to tighten everything. Since I don’t, I use the tiny socket wrench enclosed with the parts kit, which is a tedious task. Each metal panel is wrapped on both sides with plastic that has to be removed, but once you get a corner pull started, the plastic rips off quickly. I’ve bought so many of these because they’re sturdy and I really like the olive green color. I think it makes my garden area look planned and intentional, versus thrown together. The major drawback is cost. There are other cheaper alternatives offered here on Amazon–but I think quality varies greatly according to reviews. I guess I’d rather pay more for something I know will last a long time, claims to be made of food safe materials, and won’t fall apart or rust– especially since I’m growing edible items in the beds.

I have been thinking about similar products for several years and finally decided to buy two of these. I amsooooo pleased with them…their sturdiness, their quality, and their color. Even though I needed help withassembly, it was still very easy: no pathetic hardware and no unaligned holes for the hardware. I am anOld Person but have help often. My helper and I assembled it in the garage and were able to take it to the gardenwith no problem at all. They look great, they’re a perfect size for me…the ones I bought were 8 x 2…and Iam really excited about using them. Great Product.

Works perfectly and seems like real quality materials

I love this Vergo raised garden bed! I needed to expand my garden space and didn’t want to use wood again, since it starts to wear down after a few years. This bed is very sturdy, durable, and easy to assemble. The soft sage green color is beautiful and blends perfectly into my garden. It’s a great addition to my yard and I’ll definitely be ordering more. Highly recommend!

I love the 17″ height. I thought 17 inches wouldn’t be enough to make a difference, but it is! If you need to sit on a stool or even an old kitchen chair, it’s the perfect height for gardening! We notice that we have very few weeds with a raised bed! That’s a bonus. Just for added info: It takes 12-13 1.5 cu ft bags of potting soil to fill one raised . We found out that the home and garden big box stores will deliver that to you for a fee. In our case, the fee was $35.00 and that was well worth it to deliver and carry to our back yard! The Vego is a very well made raised bed. It is attractive in the yard, and easy to put together. It would be good to have a 2nd person to hold the panels together while you attach and tighten the bolts. We put unfolded cardboard boxes in the bottom of the bed to help keep the grass from growing up through the bed, and to make a fairly solid bottom for the fresh new soil. I would suggest using 2 or 3 thicknesses of the cardboard, even 4 would be great. Over time, the cardboard will disintegrate and be just fine!

I liked these, I do think they could use either extra bracing or just thicker metal. But for the price, they work awesome. They’ve only been up for two weeks at my house so I don’t know about durability but they were fairly easy to assemble and all the parts were galvanized so I think it should hold up. They aren’t flimsy per se, buuuut I would be gentle with putting in dirt and also make sure you don’t pack it in because it will flex.Overall:- good quality and definitely for the price.-good size, I did 8’ long by 2’ wide which was perfect for me.- could be thicker, but for the price it doesn’t even matter.- looks really good!-edges are folded so you won’t cut yourself on theseI looked at a lot of different ones of the same size and I think this one is the best bang for your buck.At first I did 4 stars, but honestly if you’re doing a garden on the cheap you probably won’t fend better raised beds. So 5 stars because the price does beat the others of similar or less quality and these look great.

Easy to assemble and sturdy enough as a garden bed. While they’re probably not as good as what you’d get at yoir local Lowe’s or Rural King, they are a fraction of the cost of those.Assembled 2 of them in about half an hour withe the tools provided (wrench and screwdriver). They’re lightweight enough time position by yourself but a helper obviously makes it easier.I would buy again.

Bought as a gift for my mom to plant her herbs and make it easy to tend to them. It’s attractive, sturdy and easy to move around (although will be noticeably heavier when filled with soil). I put it together for her in about 20-30 minutes, and it was easy and well constructed. I’m thinking of ordering one for myself!

This raised garden bed is a breeze to put together. It is sturdy and looks like it will last many, many seasons. The provided rubber gasket for the top is a nice addition to avoid scraping your arms on the metal, even though the metal isn’t that sharp, which is very much appreciated! The center bar provides extra stability.We had a minor issue with our center bar, it was machined slightly off so it wasn’t fitting properly. I contacted customer service, politely explaining our issue via email, and they responded just over an hour later! That’s incredible! Anna was so kind and apologetic. She expedited a new bar to us and it reached us the next day! Talk about going above and beyond! She even followed up to make sure we got it. I’ve never had better customer service! This is a small, family owned company and you can tell they care deeply about their product and their customers.If you are looking for a raised garden bed, this is the one! It’s made with love and care and you can tell by the quality. From the way it was packed, to the quality materials, and the amazing customer service, you can’t go wrong here. The media could not be loaded. Update Aug 2025: updating my review after a couple years usage. The metal tabs are failing and there’s gaps in my garden beds where soil it is coming out. I’ve also determined that I really don’t like that stabilization bar because it makes it very difficult to turn over the soil in your garden beds. I wanted to expand my garden bed and I was out shoppings and happened to see one that looked very similar (vego) and bought it on the fly – it is much better built. Instead of the metal tabs, they have hardware. There is no middle stabilization bar, so it’s easy to turn over the dirt. And the metal walls are a bit thicker. Now that I have something to compare this brand too, I would not recommend it.Original review: I was looking for a product made an America and found this Oregon company. Timely delivery, packaged well, all parts included, nothing missing. I chose the white version because I wanted something different. Wasn’t sure how it would look, but it looks great against the green lawn. The metal pieces are not flimsy, and they include middle bars plus stakes for stability. Assembly is very easy without any tools. My fingers were a little sore from pushing down the metal tabs but not bad. I would say this company has exceptional service because they included recommendations on how to fill the garden box. They recommended laying down cardboard, branches, logs, organic matter, compost, then topsoil. I used the boxes that the product came in. They also included a little gift, which were vegetable labels and a pen which was very nice touch. The rubber trim doesn’t stay on well but that’s minor and I’m going to fix that with a little superglue. If you’re looking for a garden box and you want to buy locally in the US, then I would highly recommend this product.

Safety concerns. Why not cedar? Expensive. So what about the Vego garden? Read on.I recently received the Vego garden as a complimentary product to review. I thought comparing the Vego garden to a wood option would be a good idea in terms of both cost, weight, and safety. For a DIY project, wood is the first option a homeowner will likely purchase. Rather than comparing the Vego’s 4′ x 8′ configuration to a wood 4 x 8′ build, I’m comparing the Vego 4′ x 8′ against two 4′ x 4′ wood gardens. Two 4′ x 4′ wood gardens are something more likely that a homeowner would make, especially given the weight of wood.Remember, the Vego garden is 17″ tall. To get that same height will require 10″ boards, deck screws, and boards on the inside to connect the panels and the corners. Remember, lumber comes in nominal sizes; a 10″ board is only 9.25″. Stacking two boards will give you 18.5″, just 1.5″ higher than the Vego garden.Since we have a Menards nearby and it’s the cheapest lumber in the area, I used their pricing. While the manual says assembly time is 45m, give yourself some extra time. If you aren’t sure you like where it is, at 40 lbs, move it. Pricewise, it’s right in the middle of cedar, treated lumber, and better than both options material-wise.Here are some added benefits:Space-Saving:Cedar is 13/16″ thick, and treated lumber is 1.5″. The Vego garden is so thin I didn’t bother to measure it. It’ll fit just about anywhere.No Sharp Edges:Vego has rolled the metal’s top and bottom edges. Even the corners and edges that connect aren’t sharp. For additional safety, they even include a heavy-duty rubber edged to guarantee you’ll have zero concerns.Height:17″ should keep the rabbits out. Honestly, most homeowners aren’t going to stack their boards to get to 17″ anyway; it’s too much extra work. That means a max height of 10″ – 12″ and putting up a fence; more work.The Product Itself:I’ve included several of the packaging and product. The packaging is top-notch, and Vego has covered each piece with plastic to prevent scratching during transport. You can see the rolled edging and the holes for assembly. The color of my product is olive-green.Downsides:The only downside I could think of to the Vego garden was the potential to scratch it. While I didn’t want to try, it seemed that it would be rather unlikely to occur. A scratch would only be an aesthetic issue as galvanized beds are safe for gardens; another good reason to purchase the Vego garden.20+ Years?Will the Vego garden last for 20+ years? I don’t know. That’s a long time. Even if you get half of that, it’s better than the other options available.Final thoughts:I certainly wish I’d known about Vego sooner. It’s an excellent product for the price. It requires no power tools and 45m – 90m of your time. The result is that you can get gardening right away.

I absolutely love this raised bed! I’m an avid vegetable gardener and wanted a place specifically to grow flowers where I could control critters. After I plant seeds or bulbs I cover it with netting until the plants get a sturdy stem. I bought the 17” 10 in 1 model in olive green and it’s so pretty. I’ve had it over a year now and it still looks new. It was easy to put together and looks great in my back yard. Last fall I planted around 70 ranunculus corms and in spring 5 packs of zinnia seeds. I’d buy more if I had more room in my yard!
