Customer Review: This definitely helps us be mindful of getting veggie scraps, eggshells and coffee grounds sorted immediately, without the smelly, unsightly look of a typical compost pail . We still use plastic bags to collect it all in though, but it’s just more functional.At some point the materials at the stop will get dirty, moldy, etc so we’ll likely have to buy replacements for that, but this has served us best as the first step in collecting and disposing of organic waste.Make sure you have a dedicated drop off site, as this is not for long term/full composting. Use it diligently and you’ll find your trash bags are at least 50% less full by trash day, the impact is real.

Customer Review: This is a nice sized , good quality compost bucket with a filters in the lid to keep smells away as you fill with kitchen scraps . Doesn’t take up much room when stored under sink . It is finished nicely and does not look too out of place when left on the counter. The sturdy handle makes it easy to transport to the compost outside .I have not seen any evidence of fruit flies so far.

The handle is firmly attached if you need to carry it. The color fits in well – doesn\’t stand out too much, and the reeded sides add just a touch of interest.I\’ve chosen to line the container (photos) with compostable bags. This container easily fits a 1-gallon or 3-gallon recycling bag very nicely. The size is good for my needs – there are larger containers out there, but it doesn\’t take long for compostable items to smell, so I find myself tying off and replacing the bag long before the container gets full, so I\’m happy I didn\’t get a bigger container (and I have a small household). No comment on the \’filter’. The lid alone kept smells contained, so no idea if the filter does much.Solid build, fits my needs, and looks nice. I highly recommend this counter compost container.

Customer Review: Good product. Well packed and included easy to follow instructions and small screwdriver. Also came with basic composting instructions. Easy to assemble. Confused that some had trouble with assembly. I thought I might need my husband to help hold parts but they locked into place and I easily did this alone. The built-in nuts for the screws made it much easier. I took my time fiddling around and drinking coffee and took about an hour to assemble it and place in the garden. Getting all the screws into place is the time-consuming part. Looks like it will last. Can’t wait to see what kind of compost I get. This is for small amounts, not for large piles of compost. I recommend it for small backyard gardens.

Customer Review: Other reviewers are correct that this compost bin is somewhat flimsy. Once you have it set up and put 8″-10″ of materials in it, it will hold its shape and stay put. I like the large capacity and that the capacity is adjustable based on how much you coil up the sheet of perforated plastic. I also like that it is lightweight. When I turn the compost to aerate it, I plan to lift the whole thing up, move it over, and refill it, putting the newest material on the bottom and the more composted material on the top. This will be easy to do since it is very lightweight. I will also be able to open the whole thing up from the side to toss the materials as needed. I’ve been composting in various bins for 40 years and this is just what I needed to accommodate a larger volume of materials while still being a set-up that is easy to work with.

The lid also doesn’t latch so it’s easy to bump it up with the same hand holding your food scraps so you can put them in. Sturdy. Looks good.

Customer Review: The assembly was pretty easy even though the temperature was in the 90s outside. I took my time and followed directions. I chose the smaller one because it looked easy to move and lighter weight. I am already using it per instructions provided and it seems to be good so far. The turning mechanism works well and the lock does too. This is the perfect size for me to garden in small containers. There were extra screws but some didn’t fit as snugly as they should. I did not need 2 people to assemble this at all.I am not sure about leakage because the instructions say to put a pan under it and reuse any water that comes out to water my plants. Perfect for conserving water also.

Customer Review: I’m a huge fan of Growell products. This is the 3rd Growell item I’ve ordered and I’m not disappointed. The first two are hydroponic growing systems and, like those, Growell quality shines with this electric composter.This system is the perfect size. It has a small footprint on my counter but it’s powerful enough to grind up most of my kitchen debris.I ordered the green colored composter and it looks sleek on my counter.Even though I have chickens, I still have lots of scraps from the table and my gardens that the chickens can’t eat. Coffee grounds and potato peels are just a few.I’m new to this type of composting but I love it already.This system is so easy to set up and use. The instructions are also clear and easy to follow.You simply put your scraps in and the machine does the rest.There are a couple of steps before it’s actually compost and I’m only in the first stage. The scraps come out finely ground and super brittle. (See my photo)So far I’ve added egg shells, vegetables, peels, meat scraps,coffee grounds and biodegradable coffee filters. This composter had no problem with any of it.The first phase really reduces the scraps so I’m keeping them in a gallon Mason jar until I have more for phase two. I’ll update later with the finished product.This is just a great way to handle kitchen scraps. It’s neat, clean and no smell. Customer Review: I have some hydroponic setups from this company that I grew basil, spinach, and lettuce in all winter, and I love them, so I thought I’d try this from them too. It’s AMAZING how much stuff I have put in it, and how much it reduces the waste down! I mean, I PACK that tub with peels, egg shells, old “past their use by date” veggies, coffee filters and grinds (I do use biodegradable filters, yes), even table scraps. I make my own chicken stock that I simmer overnight, so I even put the leftover “gunk” from the pot after I strained it – INCLUDING the chicken bones, anthough they were boiled down to almost mush themselves, and it chewed them right up. And my big worry – smell – wasn’t a worry. Unless I open the lid to add more, there’s no odor. None. There’s a filter medium in there that keeps the odors contained, which is omportant because my house is a VERY open layout. If it stinks, it stinks EVERYWHERE, and that thankfully is a complete non-issue. I have an outside composting rolling barrel, I just take the bucket out, dump the chopped, dried, stuff in it, and start a new batch. Great on every level!

I wanted a small compost bin that I could utilize on the counter while cutting up vegetables etc. I also wanted it to have a lid so I could use it for a few days without having fruit flies until it could be taken outside to our larger compost area. This definitely fit the bill! It is made of a sturdy silicone material that has an airtight lid and a removable inner basket with drainage holes. It is approximately 8.5″ tall x 6.75 ” wide. The inner basket is approximately 8″ deep. I usually leave the inner basket in place when taking it outside to prevent leaking. I was worried that it might be too small but it’s really a great size and holds a several days worth of vegetable and fruit cuttings with no smell as the lid is airtight. I don’t see a need for a bin with a filter as this works exactly as described and is easy to manage. I use it as an intermediate holding place for compost waste and empty it every few days. It is very easy to rinse out and reuse.

Customer Review: Though it also has the hooks to mount it to cabinets and such, it’s also the ideal size for countertop use in our kitchen.The design of the lid is clever and it opens 2 different ways which are both useful, depending on what we’re putting inside.It does a solid job sealing smells inside but we empty it daily so I haven’t necessarily stress-tested the odor-proofing or filter longevity.It was a little pricy compared to the plastic options I was weighing but ultimately this one being countertop has the advantage of blending in with our appliances and I only hope to need this one for quite some time.

Customer Review: I’ve used multiple composting bins over the years and this is by far the best. I got the 5L. It’s a good size either for the counter or for hanging and it fits the7L compostable bags I already had perfectly. It leaves enough edge to be secure even with the bin full and enough extra to tie off when I toss a load. You could use this without bags, I just like using them for ease of cleaning. The lid is easy on/off and stays put with no sliding around or chance of accidentally falling off. Although I avoid plastic in my life as much as possible, for something like this is it light weight, easy to wash, and doesn’t rust through like every metal bin I’ve used eventually does. Great little device for a good price. THUMBS UP.
