Customer Review: I work as a freelance gardener and sometimes that means trimming a hedge. I don’t use gas powered tools. Prior to purchasing these Okatsune shears, I owned a very basic and somewhat heavy set of shears and I didn’t particularly enjoy hedge trimming. All of that completely changed after I bought these shears. Firstly, as a female gardener, these are really enjoyable to use because they are incredibly light weight and nimble so there is absolutely no arm or back fatigue using these as opposed to using heavier shears. Secondly, they are super sharp and trimming with them results in a beautifully precision cut hedge. Thirdly they allow me to get my work done faster. These shears are a dream to work with, I love using them for work and now I can say I really enjoy trimming hedges.

Customer Review: My “orange handled” hedge shears were not working right – something out of alignment so I was looking and found these rave reviews for OKATSUNE shears. The price was a little high but I am drawn to QUALITY so decided to take the plunge.Bought these 217 shears. They arrived new and sharp and clean. I did not use them as right after I ordered I saw some other reviews theorizing that Stihl Heavy Duty shears are made by Okatsune. Yet the picture didn’t quite match these. I dug further and found that Okatsune also makes a 231 model which is same medium length handles but the blades are around 1″ longer. THAT picture matched exactly to the Stihl product. So I went to local A hardware store and got those kind for a lower price. I like that I get more blade length for less money.Either way you can’t go wrong I think. THESE ARE SHARP and I made quick work of my yews and boxwoods. These cut the boxwoods like buttah! On the yews they also cut like buttah and even on the thicker clumps of stems that are up to 1/2″ in diameter, a little arm power and they slice through those too.I cleaned them off after to get the sap off then oiled them. I probably should have oiled them FIRST before using to make clean up even easier. I think they will last a long time. I am a little wary that the oak handles will be the thing that breaks at some point but hopefully not for awhile. They are attached by a couple rivets on each side.

I took a chance and purchased the pruning shears. The grip is comfortable to hold even after prolonged use. The shears are medium weight but not too heavy for me. Easy to use and cuts clean with one stroke. I believe I got a good deal and quality item without having to leave the house. Convenient purchase and performs as expected.

In fact, they may one day be passed on to my grown children as the sturdiest, most durable and most precise garden shears ever made.I chose this particular Powergear-2 hedge cutting shears primarily for their lightweight feature. They are comfortable to hold and maneuver in tight sports. They operate smoothly and efficiently and reliably. My other FISKARS cutting tools are heavier and some have very useful, extendable handles that allow me to trim large and tall bushes and hedges. Some allow me to cut very thick branches easily.I have been using these lightweight shears weekly on extensive, full-grown plantings for almost two months now. They are very sharp, easy to manipulate and cut cleanly all of the time. They are designed for thin branches on hedges and shrubs. They are particularly useful for tall bushes and hedges where I have to reach over my head to trim for long periods of time. Their light weight and clean cutting ability is a definite asset in such situations. Yes, I do have electric hedge cutters, but I rarely use them. I prefer the precise shaping ability that these FISKARS shears alone provide.The shears are an excellent value at $31. I am confident that they will provide years of use, based on current and past experience. They are a real bargain when you consider the high cost that professional landscapers charge. Customer Review: Bought these to use on bushes and low tree branches in-between lawnmower visits. My husband was not interested in trimming back the low branches. I needed a light weight cutter, easy for me as a 5″2′ 100 pound female. I found these shears were very easy to manipulate and got the job done easily and quickly. They work well, yard looks so much better.. great for trimming the smaller bushes. Definitely would buy again..well made..sturdy. Easy to hang on hook on wall.

Customer Review: Okay, very surprised of the quality at this price-point for these shears. I would expect to pay much more at a hardware store for these. They cut very nicely into sizable bush limbs. They are somewhat on the heavy side as compared to cheaper models of shears. For an elderly person, perhaps Fiskars has a lighter version so that your arms don’t get tired from usage. They extend in length. The pics that I have attached show non-extended and extended. Very good purchase!

Customer Review: I ordered this because I needed to replace my old ones that actually cost the same as what I paid for all 3. The major thing I noticed is that these were sharp as soon as they arrived. My old ones required me to sharpen them before even using. I love that all 3 are all different sizes. I’ve been able to use these on some of my small shrubs, bushes, my smaller fruit trees and even some of my aloe plants too. I found that these blades are really easy to clean without them rusting either. The weight of all of these are not that heavy and allow me to put them in my belt loops without pulling or weighing my pants or shorts down. I included a picture of a rose bush I needed to trim back and I was able to that with the use of the smaller shears. Not to mention, the grips on these and made so that they don’t slip and slide out of my hands even when they’re wet. So easy to use and they are really sharp!

Customer Review: I needed a new pair of shears and bought a pair from my local big box home store. I’m cutting ornamental grasses back, arborvitaes, and some thin branched hedges (privet type hedges). The shears from the box store could not cut this light stuff!! I could not believe! The grass would go between the blades and not get cut, there was a gap.I needed a new pair because my old pair were finally worn out. Since I had to return the useless shears to the big box home store, I decided to see if I could order another pair of what I had because they lasted for YEARS and were great. To my amazement I had a pair of Corona model HS 3911, and they are still being made today, and they were available on Amazon!These Corona HS 3911 shears are perfect for cutting ornamental grasses and thin stuff where you want easy precise cuts. They probably won’t be cutting thick branches, but they are not made for that. If you need to cut thick stuff get loppers. These things are like giant scissors, super sharp, well made, solid steel and hardwood construction. They cut like budda and are identical to the pair I bought YEARS ago. I was thinking I needed to pay $70 or $80 for a decent pair of shears these days given what I got from the home store, but these Corona shears are all you need. I would have happily paid double as long as they were good quality, like the stuff you use to get! Luckily I didn’t have to.If you are on the fence, get these. I’m sure they will last me as many years as my last pair did. Good job Corona!

Customer Review: They did not come very sharp but I went out immediately anyway and trimmed some small weedy growth of vines and honeysuckle coming over the fence and they worked well in spite of not being as sharp as they should be. The notch helps with larger diameter stuff up to 1/2″ but it struggles to cut that thick, you need to snap it together forcefully.They do seem well-made and built to last. I sharpened them up to my liking after their first use and noted they are easy enough to sharpen on a grinding wheel, you do not need to take them apart which is a plus to grind a nice even edge. Finishing up with a small fine stone, they now have a sharp edge. I’m happy with this purchase!

Customer Review: These shears are not super heavy duty. They ARE lightweight, sharp, and well-made. If you are trying to decide between these and the ARS K-800 shears, get these. I’ve owned both and the ARS KR-1000 shears are better for several reasons:* Replaceable blades. Buy a spare set when you buy these so that you aren’t looking for them later.* Better handle design. The K-800 shears have a plastic handle which mates up to a metal tang which only runs a short distance into the handle. Mine failed a lot sooner than it should have. In contrast, the KR-1000 handle is a continuous lightweight piece of metal which only uses plastic to reinforce the interior part of the handle.They’re satisfying to use and they just work. If I was doing hedge clipping for hours a day, I’d want something electric, but for small jobs these are very nice. The resins from the hedges can gum them up. I’ve found that WD-40 a plastic scrubbing pad does wonders for cleaning them up when this is a problem.

Don’t like: well, if it were 50% cheaper I’m sure I’d like that, but this pair of clippers is well worth it to make quick work of my vines and other shrubby growth. Customer Review: The old timers in my neighborhood always told me the job is easier when you have the right tool. The right tool for the right job makes all the difference. Super sharp they cut through Manoa and foxtail palm branches with ease. Not to cumbersome or awkward to use. The open and close easy and stay shut when your done. None of that walking around and they just flop open on you. The grips are comfortable on your hands and not weird when you have gloves on for gardening. Definitely a great tool for the yard!
