Customer Review: I made a poor decision purchasing this item. The blower works well enough but the vacuum feature is pathetic. I have to hold items up to it in order for them to be vacuumed in. Plus it is very HEAVY. I am 200#, 5’11” male and I had a hard time lugging this around my yard. A neighbor thought you could detach the vacuum motor from the blower. He was wrong. All you can do is turn a dial to either blow or vacuum. But the entire tool remains as one single piece. I am keeping it in any case. If need be I will just buy a blower alone. My neighbors have done that and the ones they have are light enough to use. I just thought I need to suck up grass and dead leaves. I do but this isn’t the item to purchase to do that.Update: 2018-11-20I have dramatically changed my evaluation from 2 stars to 5 stars. I finally learned how to use this properly. First, the strap around the bag is meant to go over your shoulder to support the weight of the blower/vacuum. Putting the strap at the proper length makes all of the difference in the world for comfort and ease of use. It is a matter of trial and error until it feels right, which it now does for me.The vacuum really works very well. I don’t know what I was thinking of with my first rating of 2 stars which criticized the vacuum as ‘pathetic.’ It is not. It is just like running your home vacuum over a carpet except here you are running it over grass. I found that it even picked up wet leaves that had been pushed into the soil because they had been walked over. You do have to be very careful not to vacuum up semi-branches because they can jam in the rotor which breaks up the debris. The rotor turns to create the vacuum. If the branch is a twig, it will work but if you hear a ‘seizing’ noise after sucking up any solid object, even thick mulch, turn it off and remove the front section so that you can see the rotor blades. Use needle nose plier to pull out the offending item.I just vacuumed up the leaves from a 5,000 square foot yard with relative ease and had no noticeable strain on my arms or back. It was a lot easier than raking. And, if the leaves are ‘blow around’ dry, the vacuum picks them so easily as to make it ‘fun’ — almost!!!It is important to empty the bag whenever you sense that the vacuum suction is weakening. It takes less than a minute to empty the bag into a disposable bag. Once you have done so and you returning to vacuuming up the leaves, you will notice the increased strength of the vacuum.While it does have the ability to work as a blower, I use a dedicated cordless blower which is easier to handle, gives me freedom to go where I want rather than being tethered to a cord, and works it a bit stronger than this blower. I use a worx 32 v blower. But, it is nice to have the option of using the blower immediately if the need arises.Also, I use a 50 foot 16 gauge extension cord which gives me just enough freedom to work on my entire yard. I have several outdoor outlet around my house.I highly recommend this for keeping your lawn clean of leaf debris.

Customer Review: This works well for sucking up leaves. I like how it has a mulching mechanism so the leaves are much smaller making it fill the collection back easier. Only downside is the suction isn’t the most powerful so it only sucks up a few leaves at a time and takes awhile if you have a lot to pick up

Good blower power, moves dry leaved effortlessly, and I actually like the variable speed control. The vacuum definitely is an upgrade, and made quick work of the front yard leaves and mulched pretty efficiently. If I still one CON, it’s the cord keeper. Unless you tie the extension cord in a “knot” it continues to come undone relatively easy. You can buy a cord Velcro keeper but I wish it came with a better design. I would purchase again?

Black and decker fixed that issue on this unit.The only thing that could be changed would be a bigger colle tion bag, but that would make it cost more. I took the open end and attached it to rung that hold the 50 gal contractors bags and when it fills I just slid on another bag.Mulches great, for a $80. Dollar electric machine, does everything I need it to do. GREAT PRODUCT.

Customer Review: We have very mature, very large maple and ash trees on 1/3 acre and autumn is beautiful but produces many leaves. Mowing all of them with a mulching blade is just too dense on the grass and doesn’t account for leaves left on the garden area. We have made mulch piles in the past and takes too long for my lazy, lack of turning the piles.This was our first year using the Worx WG430 and this is my initial opinion.1. very easy to set up and use. It is electric so requires a long extension cord to move around the yard.2. noisy. not more than expected, just as expected. I wear hearing protection when mowing and did with this too. Not a complaint, just an observation.3. mulch reduction rate. I don’t know how manufacturers get their 4:1, 11:1, 16:1 reduction rates, but I didn’t see 11:1 mulch rate with this. I played with running a mulched load back through again and even running that through a 3rd time and got it mulched down to very fine, but I take the 11:1 “rating” like I do a wet/dry vacuum that claims to be 5 HP. This is marketing mumbo jumbo and probably isn’t reliable to compare between tools.I do believe that the mulch reduction rate is acceptable for either keeping in my gardens, mulch pile or moving them to a compost site. The Worx made big whole leaves into little pieces of leaves.4. the trim lines. I found that the Worx trims great when the trim line is new, and is progressively slower as the trim line is used and worn down. I’ve used line trimmers so I understand the concept. With line trimmers they bump to extend or magically extend as they are worn away. With the Worx there is no extending as they wear away. You have to stop your work and replace the pre-cut, pre-measured trimmer lines. The machine came with Worx brand trim lines and there were 10-20 (I don’t remember) so you can get started and really get a lot of mulching done with what comes in the box, but you will change them out and maybe quicker than you expected.The changing of the lines is very easy and quick.I have a 350′ spool of .080 string trimmer line and using one of the Worx lines, I cut a whole stack of proper length lines and used them in the Worx. I did not see any difference in durability while using my .080 string trimmer line vs the trimmer line that came with the Worx.5. Stores compactly.6. I found the paper bag adapter COMPLETELY useless. It went immediately into the garbage since I could not think of a way to repurpose it. I used contractor grade garbage bags that worked great and if I needed to use the paper lawn bags then I could just pour the leaves out of the contractor bags into the paper bags, easier than trying to use the paper bag adapter.After the first season of use, I am very happy for the purchase. It seems durable, easy to use, and does the job (the one job it is intended to do) well. Still have to rake or blow them into a pile and lift them into the machine.I would recommend this for a medium size yard (again my lot is 1/3 acre with 8 very mature trees, 18″-40″ diameter base).

Customer Review: Works great – just buy extra line!I’ve had this for a little over a week and love it. The device is easy to set up, use, and change lines (more on that in a second). I typically use the 42 Gallon Husky Bags for my yard cleanup and using the muncher basically cuts down two to two and a half bags of leaves down to one.Pine needles don’t get that much efficiency, as there is not a lot of “air” that take up room – but it does a decent job chopping those down too into a finer power.The only negative is that the string for the mulcher wears down rather quickly, and I might experiment with some thicker line (I am using what they gave me for now). When the line wears down, you start getting buildup on the sides and you need some way of agitating the load in order for it to chop back up again. The good news is changing lines is pretty easy and you are back in business pretty quickly.Overall a very solid purchase and I am very happy with this. It should cut down on my bags by more than half – which is great when you need to haul them off your property and transport them to the local dump.

Customer Review: I got tired of paying someone to take care of the leaves that accumulate in my yard each Fall, so I decided to buy this Worx Trivac leaf mulcher to help me do the job myself. I have owned several Worx tools over the years, so I know that their quality is excellent. This device is actually a blower as well, but I wouldn’t call it a 3-in-1 device since the vacuum and mulcher features are really just one function (It sucks in the leaves and mulches them before depositing them into the attached bag). Since this mulcher requires a power cord, I would recommend using at least a 50-foot cord and maybe even a 100-foot one, depending on the size of your yard. After using this mulcher for an entire weekend, I am very pleased with it so far. However, I have 2 recommendations. First of all, make sure you don’t have any rocks, small tree branches, or other objects in the yard that could damage the impeller or cause it to get clogged. So I would suggest walking around your yard and removing any objects besides leaves that could cause problems when you’re using it. Second, it will be much easier to mulch the leaves if you rake them into piles first. I took a normal rake and went around my yard and created several small piles, which then made using this mulcher much more efficient. Also make sure you have a large garbage can ready so you can dump the bag of mulched leaves into it each time it fills up. Based on my experience with this leaf mulcher, I highly recommend it. The only thing that would make it better is if Worx came out with a battery-powered version so you didn’t have to drag a cord around your yard. But a battery-powered version might be too heavy and might not have enough power, so maybe that’s why Worx hasn’t done that.

Customer Review: This is a hit with my husband. He loves the mobility of the vacuum tool and is impressed by the mulching fly wheel. It may not save him time, but it picks up the never ending supply of leaves around the pool which means fewer leaves in the pool to clog up the filter. A blower just pushes the leaves into the pool but the vacuum attachment converts it into a walk around vacuum with pretty good suction.It wasn’t difficult to put together, but it is a bit heavy to carry for long periods of time. The power cord can be problematic because it can get tangled, caught on something or just gets in the way.The price was a good deal, less than a shop vac or outdoor vacuum.It is a bit noisy, so ear plugs are recommended. Customer Review: I’ve used this so far on 3 different occasions and it’s been amazing. I have oak, maple and god only knows what other trees DUMPING in my back yard.. I mean DUMPING. To the point where you cannot tell there are multi level pavers/rocks and flower beds. The first time I cleaned up the back yard in this house it took 7 days and16 giant yard bags full of leaves- seriously. I got a quote for $700 from a company to remove the leaves, insane. Fast forward 8 months and I discover there’s such a thing as a leaf mulcher/vacuum. I researched many brands, including Bob Villas top rated model which is 3-4 times more money than this one, and every single model has someone in the reviews saying “bag broke”, “thing jams up with sticks” or “awkward to maneuver” leaving me feeling hopeless to find something that would work, but instead of giving up I chose to purchase this model because for the price I figured I would have to be able to get some leaf relief (sorry, had to). Well to my pleasant surprise the thing just EATS leaves, shreds them up nice and tiny and makes me SO HAPPY. The bag has not broken, but I am VERY careful when emptying (anxiety from all the other reviews), it does in fact jam up some times with sticks or really really large aggressive leaves but I just turn it off, jiggle the nozzle and the mess falls out of the tube and I start again- MINOR inconvenience compared to being buried in leaves, and I like the fact that it’s electric, I just use the outdoor extension cord and get to run this baby as long as I want, which if you haven’t realized yet, is a very long time for me/my yard. I’m a 5’5 woman, 36 years old, my back hurts if I do it too long but I genuinely don’t find the task to be too taxing. Maybe because I’m finally winning the war on leaves, idk. If you’re in the market for one of these, buy this one.
