The bottom piece attaches to the handle with 2 screws, and includes all hardware needed. The only challenge was a personal coordination issue in using the hex screw driver and wrench in coordination while having a dog decide to lick my elbow – but that’s a personal problem irrelevant of the product. It came together easily enough. Since I’m short, I chose to leave out one of the extension pieces for the pole. I will probably remove the 2nd one because it’s still really long! If you’re over 6′? This will definitely be long enough for you to use! (Picture included showing the height with only 1 extension pole next to a standard shovel.) The important thing of course is how well does it work.
