Customer Review: I bought this to mow down grass and weeds in my backyard. The small collector makes for more stops to empty so if you want to stop less, might need a bigger collector. But for small jobs or big jobs with more stops, this mower is great. A little louder that I thought it would be because its electric, but not as loud as its gas powered counterparts. I have a super long extension cord that doesn’t really get in the way (no more than using a vacuum cleaner inside does). I would not deduct a star for the lack of battery, the cost is great, and you know you need power before purchasing. Overall this mower has worked great so far.

Customer Review: This mower is a beast! I have a half-acre lot with some steep spots and lots of thick fescue. The 200cc engine never bogged down, even when I let the grass get a bit too long. The side discharge is great for mulching areas, and the bag is decent size. Assembly was straightforward. For the price, you can’t beat this power.

Customer Review: Working fine for me. Easy to use. No battery. Lightweight. No gas. Has enough power to cut tall weeds and grass. I’m almost 72 in good health, fit, I can lift a 50 pound cement bag, that kinda stuff. I didn’t want to smell gas fumes. Yes it will take me longer using an electric mower but I also wanted the grass clippings picked up. More of a manicure lawn look. Sometimes I clip the weeds with my long handle shears then use the mower. I know it’s a long arduous process! But at retired 72 all I got is time and burning calories too. I take the clippings over to my next door neighbors goats sheep and chickens and ducks. They love the fresh cut grass and weeds. I’m cutting the Cal Fire required 100 feet clearance around my house, goats pen and dog house. We have 29 acres and lost everything but one house in the June 2024 Apache Wildfire. Barring some other catastrophic event we will be in good shape if another wildfire happens.

Customer Review: I don’t write many reviews. I have to be either really disappointed or really love something. This mower rocks! Yes, it is small with plastic wheels, but it’s mighty. It goes through the grass like butter. I have a zero turn as I have a few acres, but it was broken, and I was waiting on a part. I bought this to hold me over so I could at least mow the backyard for the dogs. I didn’t want to spend the money on a gas mower or a battery mower. Besides, I don’t have any faith in the battery mowers to do what I needed, certainly not on a single charge. This is lightweight, no problem pushing, and now I use it in place of a weed whacker. Zero turns are great for going around trees, not so much in corners. No more having to drag the weed whacker out to make several passes to cut down the fenced corners and around my garden area where the zero turn can’t fit. (52″ deck) Honestly, I wish I had bought this sooner. I would much rather push this around than swing a weed whacker back and forth. This mower is significantly faster and produces a more consistent cut than weed whacking where the zero turn doesn’t fit.

Customer Review: This mower is a lifesaver on my 1/2 acre with a steep back hill. I used to dread mowing that part with my old push mower. The self-propel works great—it pulls itself up the hill with me just guiding it. The engine is strong and hasn’t bogged down even when the grass is wet. The 21-inch deck means I make fewer passes. I had like 2 months grass cutting to catch up on after I sold my gas lawnmower.I saw and read the reviews before I bought mine and someone was saying the handle would not stay attached to the grass bag. So I could see what they were talking about when my mower arrived and was putting it together.I figured out that inside the 2 small slits where the one end of the handle fits, take a Flathead screwdriver and “gently” move the plastic pieces to the left and right insides in the slots to where you can’t see them anymore to get them out of the way and you will be able to push the end of the handle down inside and it will lock… 🙂 Hope this helps on info.But no complaints at my end on this mower. I was a little leery of buying an electric mower but glad I did.Took me 5 mins to assemble…I can mow my lawns with one finger pushing the mower cause its so lightweight. Blade underneath cuts perfect. dragging the extension cord around is kind of a pain but no problem working with doing that. Thank you American Mower for making this little mower… It’s PERRRRRFECT!

Customer Review: We bought this mower to use something eco-friendly. We are new to using an electric mower, but this little mower is pretty powerful. No problems at all. There are two things to adjust to:1. Push the power button first and then hold down the bar on the mower handle to start it. Once engaged let go of the power button.2. It was a new experience to manage an electric cord while mowing as this is not a battery charged mower. As such it is lighter. Make sure you buy a cord that matches the specs of the mower. We bought a 100 foot cord .Our yard had gotten a little longer than normal due to a series of rains. The mower handled it well and does not have the heavy weight I’ve experienced with most gas push mowers. On the more hefty areas I slowed my pace and titled the mower back a little. Every went well and there is adjustable heights for the mower. The price was right for exploring electric mowers as a back up to a traditional rotary mower. It’s nice to have an option that doesn’t require physical oomph but also doesn’t require oil, gas, and the like!

Customer Review: Like others, I needed to know the lowest measurement setting from the ground to the operating button with the mower attachment and trimmer in place. For some unknown reason, the community answers seemed to avoid such an easy question for those who owned one?! With that said, I just purchased my own to get that exact answer with a measuring tape.The LOWEST MOWER HEIGHT (from ground to button pressed): 22-1/2 inches.The HIGHEST MOWER HEIGHT (from ground to button pressed): 31-1/2 inches.**Due to my very own physical needs, the lowest height works perfectly for me! Fortunately, I did not have any of the ‘troubles’ that some have reported with theirs. If it works as it all did with my first use on a small yard today for even a season or two, I would definitely purchase again! Although it does kind of sound like a small shop vac in use, it is absolutely adorable and FUN for me to use. I love it!!It does look like a toy and is nearly identical to vacuuming (with both physical motions & width). So those that are impatient, hate vacuuming or want to look ‘manly’, may not appreciate this trimmer/mower like I already do. Did I mention that I I love this thing! :)However, as not to wear down the thin and very narrow plastic lip that holds the trimmer into the mower attachment, I personally won’t be pressing the trimmer into the mower attachment until it “clicks” per the instructions. Instead, I simply press on the pedal and gently seat the trimmer all the way in before releasing the pedal to lock it in place. Noting again, that’s just my own suggested solution to hopefully prevent that thin plastic ‘lock’ from wearing down so easily, or as I see that it probably could otherwise.Further, the trimmer seems to hold in place just fine when pressing the trimmer handle down to make turns (just like placing the weight on the back wheels to turn a vacuum). To ‘lift up’ on the trimmer handle when mowing, is when it wants to detach from the mower –so don’t do that people lol.Just like every electric tool that I’ve ever owned, it does NOT come with an extension cord (and it makes me laugh that anyone would expect it to). However, since I wanted an extension cord designated just for this unit, I also purchased what did NOT work –and that was a 50 ft 16AWG Yellow HUANCHAIN brand through Amazon at the same time as well. To my disappointment and even trying to force it further into the plug hole, that extension cord does NOT and will NOT make a tight enough contact to fit but for ‘brief’ contact spurts. At first, that was a big GRRR there for me because the mower kept cutting out before I realized it was that extension cord that was barely making contact. Okaaay….**Instead though and most fortunate for me, I ended up using my older orange extension cord (that most of us have laying around) that has a slightly narrower plug encasement … which seats all the way into the plug for continuous contact well and fits perfectly tight! With my recent experience: If it feels slightly wobbly, kind of loose or pulls out too easily… just forget it and try another extension cord plug! You’re welcome. LolAgain, before getting super frustrated with the extension cord constantly coming loose from the plug (like I did with the brand new yellow one), you may want to try to find an older style or better fitting extension cord first (even if to take the trimmer to your local hardware store to try one there)!See my extension cord pics as example: Orange (narrower) = Perfect & Tight Fit! Yellow (chubbier) = Frustrating, Loose & Horrible Fit!!Lastly, my reason for purchase: Living in an apartment with a small yard has became just too ridiculous annoying every year to ‘wait’ for yard maintenance not even mowing until the weeds are almost 18″ high and allowing the clippings to just fall where they may for their tenants to just track long grass/weed clippings into our cars and apartments — I finally had ENOUGH when a thorn weed recently caught my pant leg causing me to trip and fall! With this fun to use, light and nifty little edger/mower that I can enjoy taking care of my yard weekly and all by myself… I won’t and NEVER will want such careless “yard maintenance” in or around my yard (or vehicle) again now anyway! I’m not done yet but just after mowing the whole yard once & quickly edging to ‘test’ it today, my yard already looks way better than it ever has before! I’m HAPPY and very pleased with this fun little B&D trimmer/mower being my new ‘toy’!The only reason I’m not including pics of the results with its use on my yard today is due to some privacy concerns but it already looks GREAT! Yet, I hope my lengthy review helps answer some of the questions that I had prior to my having to purchase it to find out for myself anyway. I’m sure glad I did though! I don’t enjoy raking so to prevent that, I will just be sure to mow weekly through the growing season because I CAN and will enjoy doing so, too. It was easy to put together–screw on the safety guard to the weed-whacker, snap the extra handle on the weed-whacker, adjust the height of the wheels on the mower body/deck, and place the weed-whacker in the mower body./deck Super simple, but I recommend checking out videos online that review this mower and show how to set it up. This mower is very light weight–13.9 pounds, according to the Black and Decker website, where you can find all the specs and other information on this model of their mower.None of my extension cords fit the recessed plug on this mower. A search of the reviews led me to purchase, here on Amazon, Woods 50ft Outdoor (2-pronged) extension cord (16 gauge, 13 A, temp range -40F to 167F). Works great! Highly recommend this Black and Decker mower, as well as Woods extension cord.

No tools required besides your bare hands. Best Mower I have ever owned. Period. People suggest it’s a work out, well I say it’s equivalent to owning a rotary manual push lawn mower (The ones with a loud motor). Takes just as much force and energy! I have seen an 80 year old push Reel mowers easily.. If your Grass is so long use weed eater first then reel. Watch for rock as hitting one can knock the bed blade out of alignment but easily fixed. So far after my first cut it seems to be holding together! Someone said the tires are rubber but that’s not true more of a soft hard plastic but even in slight dry mud it maneuvered extremely well! I didn’t see a lot of people using the bag so I wanted to say the bag works great with some minor adjustments to the clip strap I was able to mow my entire yard by pushing the clipping to the back and filled the bag all the way to the top! My yard is large. Went through crab grass, weeds easily. Cut quality superb much better than any rotary! After I was done I wiped it down best I could, clean it and hit it with some wd40 including the blades. Highly recommended! It’s smaller than a traditional mower, but that actually makes it easier to handle when cutting around walkways and tight spots.I like that it works with DEWALT 20V batteries because I already have a few from other tools. Starting it is simple and the brushless motor feels smooth while mowing normal grass.The collection bag does a decent job and the mower doesn’t take up much space when stored in the garage. Customer Review: Tiny lawnmower. Bought it knowing I was going to convert it using craftsman 20v batteries. The front section in front of the battery is wide open once you cut it out. Instead of dewalt batteries 4 amp hour I run craftsman 9 amp hour battery. The blade is dull from the factory and it’s as simple as a 14mm bolt to remove and a Dremel to sharpen. Super quiet, super strong and the tight spots are easy on my lawn.

Customer Review: The battery life is about 10-12 minutes per battery. So 20-25 minutes if you use both batteries. Takes forever to charge the battery. The cutting width is about 9 inches so it takes 7-10 business days to mow my yard. If the grass is long and has any dampness to it… forget it. It cuts parts of it but leaves patches of uncut grass everywhere. The grass bag holds about two passes of my yard before it has to be emptied so forget that idea all together. May work if your yard is 10 feet by 10 feet but anything larger this is a disaster. I’ve been mowing in sections for 3 days and still not done as I have to wait 3 hours for one battery to charge. By the time I finish my yard I’ll have to start over from the beginning. Save your money.
