Customer Review: Great mower for a small yard! I picked this up in early 2024 for $220, and it still looks like it’s the same price in 2025. If you don’t want to pay extra for cordless, or, like me, don’t have a good place to charge the battery, this is nice for small yard. Make sure to research the proper gauge extension cord for the length you’ll need at 13 amps (I’m using a 50′ cord, minimum recommendation for that length is 12 gauge).Make sure when starting the motor to first press and hold the power button on the side then pull the bail handle down which starts the mower. After that you can release the power button. This is the reverse of what I was used to with gas mowers and I was worried it was broken at first. (Maybe read the manual? Nah!)I used it all last season and have used it twice thus far this year with no issues. I’ve got a flat yard which is mostly grass and I don’t get tired pushing it. This is NOT a self-propelled mower but it is light. Mulches well, bag works well and comes on and off easily, height adjustment is easy to use. The handle can be folded down for easy storage but it’s a bit of work to do so since it locks into place and there are two thumb screws to tighten it. I wish there were a fast release mechanism for this so it would be faster to fold up for storage. A great thing with an electric mower is it doesn’t matter what orientation you store it in, you don’t have to worry about gas leaking out!I wouldn’t leave this out in the sunlight. The plastic probably wouldn’t last long if you do. But if you keep it stored out of the elements and aren’t looking to mow a large yard with it then this is a great mower. I’ve let my grass/weeds grow pretty thick in a couple of spots and it hasn’t fully stalled out from anything I’ve run it over besides a welcome mat I ran over on accident. The mower stalled but survived. The welcome mat was very well mulched, so this thing has a decently powerful motor.Working with a cord can be a little bit of a pain, but if you’re able to pay attention to where it is and you plan your route out well then it’s not bad. Start close to the outlet and move away from it with each pass and you should be in the clear.

Customer Review: I have been very pleased with my new lawn mower. My last electric push mower, also a Craftsman, died after about 20 years of use.When I opened the box on the new one, I was disappointed to see plastic wheels. It seemed on the cheap side to me.However when I first used it, I noticed that it was much lighter in weight than the old mower. It makes it much easier to push and maneuver around obstacles in my yard. I’m on the short side. 5’5”, so it makes a difference.Not only is it easier to push but I was able to cut wet grass without the chute from the blade to the collection bag getting clogged up. When the lawn was wet with my old mower the chute between the blade area and the collection bag would get clogged up and I’d have to stop every few minutes to unclog it.I just mowed a wet lawn yesterday and the chute, which is redesigned, did not clog at all. And the collection bag fills up almost all the way.So I must say that I’m very pleased with my new mower and its ease of use.

Customer Review: Working fine for me. Easy to use. No battery. Lightweight. No gas. Has enough power to cut tall weeds and grass. I’m almost 72 in good health, fit, I can lift a 50 pound cement bag, that kinda stuff. I didn’t want to smell gas fumes. Yes it will take me longer using an electric mower but I also wanted the grass clippings picked up. More of a manicure lawn look. Sometimes I clip the weeds with my long handle shears then use the mower. I know it’s a long arduous process! But at retired 72 all I got is time and burning calories too. I take the clippings over to my next door neighbors goats sheep and chickens and ducks. They love the fresh cut grass and weeds. I’m cutting the Cal Fire required 100 feet clearance around my house, goats pen and dog house. We have 29 acres and lost everything but one house in the June 2024 Apache Wildfire. Barring some other catastrophic event we will be in good shape if another wildfire happens.

Customer Review: I don’t write many reviews. I have to be either really disappointed or really love something. This mower rocks! Yes, it is small with plastic wheels, but it’s mighty. It goes through the grass like butter. I have a zero turn as I have a few acres, but it was broken, and I was waiting on a part. I bought this to hold me over so I could at least mow the backyard for the dogs. I didn’t want to spend the money on a gas mower or a battery mower. Besides, I don’t have any faith in the battery mowers to do what I needed, certainly not on a single charge. This is lightweight, no problem pushing, and now I use it in place of a weed whacker. Zero turns are great for going around trees, not so much in corners. No more having to drag the weed whacker out to make several passes to cut down the fenced corners and around my garden area where the zero turn can’t fit. (52″ deck) Honestly, I wish I had bought this sooner. I would much rather push this around than swing a weed whacker back and forth. This mower is significantly faster and produces a more consistent cut than weed whacking where the zero turn doesn’t fit.

Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised. Taking this out of the box I was skeptical. I thought “Plastic, extremely lightweight. Are you serious, is this a toy? ” Loaded up the battery, purchased separately, and off I went. I have a small front and medium backyard. I was so impressed with the results. Easy to menuver, quiet. I can’t say enough about the positive experience. My son, who has never cut grass was able to use it with much success. Nice to have the warranty as well.

Customer Review: I bought this to mow down grass and weeds in my backyard. The small collector makes for more stops to empty so if you want to stop less, might need a bigger collector. But for small jobs or big jobs with more stops, this mower is great. A little louder that I thought it would be because its electric, but not as loud as its gas powered counterparts. I have a super long extension cord that doesn’t really get in the way (no more than using a vacuum cleaner inside does). I would not deduct a star for the lack of battery, the cost is great, and you know you need power before purchasing. Overall this mower has worked great so far.

To make sure you understand the conditions I’m dealing with, let me start it by telling you that I weigh 95 lbs, I’m 5” tall, I lift weights almost daily and usually run a few mikes at least twice a week, and I have a yard that’s 99 ft x101 ft (I think that’s just the back… I don’t think that’s either side or the front). I live in the NE of the US so our summers range from about 71°-101° F I think. I live on my own and don’t think I can afford to pay someone to now my lawn every week.Long story: When I first bought my house in 2008, my mom bought me a gas push lawnmower (not self-propelled). It was a bit of a workout to use, but what was challenging for me was the pull cord which always made my sides hurt after a while or made me have to get my boyfriend to start it. I also didn’t know what amounts of the necessary liquids had to go in it or how to prime it. He had to oversee all of that. That pump button didn’t have instructions on it. After we got married, my husband started paying a crew to mow the lawn and got a Ryobi self-propelled electric mower for when they weren’t available. After divorce, my husband sold the mower and moved out. I spent $400 on a Ryobi electric push lawnmower of my own (not self propelled). I did fine with it and had to use I think 2 batteries to cut the whole yard. I have three for when the grass gets too high because of too much rain, too much overtime, or too much homework (I’m in school and I work full time). It could be an extra workout pushing the lawnmower after running 7-26.2 miles or lifting weights for 3 hours, but usually a nap just before was all I needed. About a month ago, the mower stopped working. It didn’t matter which battery I put in it, it wouldn’t start or it would start but turn off after a few seconds or a few minutes. I put it in Home Depot’s repair shop and was told it would be a month and a half before they could even look at it. My brothers have let me borrow their Ego self-propelled mowers a couple times since then. They’re nice but they’re also $800 and they’re heavy, so yay for self-propelled mowers, but I can’t afford to buy my own and my brothers’ mowers are hard to get in and out of a car. I decided to buy another cheaper lawnmower.I wanted one that could cut at the same 4” height, fully electric since I seriously injured my psoas a few times over the past couple years (same place) and can’t be fooling with a pull cord now. I needed it to be cheap otherwise I might as well not bother with the repairs of the other mower. This mower came up in my search along with the Fiskars Stay Sharp 18” push reel mower. A friend suggested I go with this one thinking that even with my athletic lifestyle, a push reel mower might be too exhausting to use regularly on my size yard. When it arrived, I actually picked up the box with one hand! After opening the box, all I had to do was lift the push bar into place and screw the bolts to lock it in position. I bought a couple 12 gauge extension cords, plugged it in, and it started right up. Pushing this thing feels almost like vacuuming. It’s SO lightweight. It makes a grinding noise when I let the trigger go and it sounds like something got caught underneath, but the manual mentioned this so I know it’s normal. This mower cuts better than anything I’ve ever used. The yard looks like I used a laser to cut straight across the grass. My only disappointment is that I only have one outdoor plug on my little old house. I’ll need more extension cords until I can get my ex to come over and teach me how to put in more outdoor plugs (he’s an electrician). Aside from that, I LOVE this mower. No need to recharge batteries, haul on pull cords, mix and pour in fluids, or anything. Oh, I do have to keep moving the cord out of the way, but after getting all those don’ts, what’s one do? This mower was inexpensive and does the job better than my two previous mowers with less exhaustion on my part. Long story short: I highly recommend this mower. To everybody.

Customer Review: Okay, I bought this because my gas powered Husqvarna took a s***. So my grass has been growing like crazy after the hurricane, my yard is a quarter acre and has a drainage ditch in the front with about a 2-ft drop. I live in Florida so that’s about a pretty standard size yard and standard size drainage ditch. The lawn mower showed up basically ready to use all’s I had to do was to extend the arms and tighten down 4 the connectors. To lock the handle in place. Now let me be clear, I’m a plastics engineer. The plastic used to make all the components on this lawn mower are either polystyrene or polypropylene. Which are the absolute cheapest and easiest to use in making plastic components. They will work, but you cannot expect them to have a long lifespan. And you have to protect them from the sunlight. If not they will get brittle and shatter after 2 years. The day I got the lawn mower I was absolutely brutal with the use of it. My grass had grown because of the hurricane. But I was still able to mow my lawn with basically one hand while my other hand held the cord for the electric power . The mower seems to have plenty of power to mow tall grass and is very lightweight. I seem to remember that the website said it weighed 35 lb, but it does not seem to even weigh half that much. Which is a good thing. You’re going to hate the power activation handle that the mower has. First of all again, it’s made out of that cheap plastic and is going to break in a couple of years. In the meantime, you have to hold it constantly to keep the mower from shutting off. If I had my choice I would probably use a zip tie and lock it open but that’s unsafe. And while I don’t care, I’m sure that there are those that would. The mower actually made short work of my yard. I was very, very pleased with how it performed. Definitely worth the money.

Customer Review: Tiny lawnmower. Bought it knowing I was going to convert it using craftsman 20v batteries. The front section in front of the battery is wide open once you cut it out. Instead of dewalt batteries 4 amp hour I run craftsman 9 amp hour battery. The blade is dull from the factory and it’s as simple as a 14mm bolt to remove and a Dremel to sharpen. Super quiet, super strong and the tight spots are easy on my lawn.

My riding mower can’t cut it low enough without scalping the ground, so this was the perfect solution.I was a little skeptical because one wheel is on the grass and one is up on the cement edge of the curb, but it worked perfectly.Assembly was a breeze and took about 10min.

Customer Review: Okay first of all, I’d just like to say that I am autistic, and I absolutely LOATHE mowing the lawn. The mower is too loud, the vibrating of the handle makes my arms go numb, and I can never quite pull on the cord hard enough to get it started by myself. I always have to find someone else to turn it on for me. They’ll get it done in two seconds. (it took me half an hour of attempting to do so before I gave up and waited for my sister to get home so she could help me)Also: it only cuts while you’re pushing it forward, so all you have to do to move it when you’re not cutting is to pull it along behind you.As for cutting grass? I love it. It works perfectly, aside from a few snags on branches that I didn’t notice. If you move it forward and back a few times, you can cut even tall weeds! Much easier than pulling them out by hand in the areas that the normal gas mower can’t reach.It’s not silent, but it’s also not the deafening roar of a gas mower. Customer Review: This little mower works great!!I live in a mobile home community and we don’t have much front and backyard to mow. I had like 2 months grass cutting to catch up on after I sold my gas lawnmower.I saw and read the reviews before I bought mine and someone was saying the handle would not stay attached to the grass bag. So I could see what they were talking about when my mower arrived and was putting it together.I figured out that inside the 2 small slits where the one end of the handle fits, take a Flathead screwdriver and “gently” move the plastic pieces to the left and right insides in the slots to where you can’t see them anymore to get them out of the way and you will be able to push the end of the handle down inside and it will lock… 🙂 Hope this helps on info.But no complaints at my end on this mower. I was a little leery of buying an electric mower but glad I did.Took me 5 mins to assemble…I can mow my lawns with one finger pushing the mower cause its so lightweight. Blade underneath cuts perfect. dragging the extension cord around is kind of a pain but no problem working with doing that. Thank you American Mower for making this little mower… It’s PERRRRRFECT!

Customer Review: We bought this mower to use something eco-friendly. We are new to using an electric mower, but this little mower is pretty powerful. No problems at all. There are two things to adjust to:1. Push the power button first and then hold down the bar on the mower handle to start it. Once engaged let go of the power button.2. It was a new experience to manage an electric cord while mowing as this is not a battery charged mower. As such it is lighter. Make sure you buy a cord that matches the specs of the mower. We bought a 100 foot cord .Our yard had gotten a little longer than normal due to a series of rains. The mower handled it well and does not have the heavy weight I’ve experienced with most gas push mowers. On the more hefty areas I slowed my pace and titled the mower back a little. Every went well and there is adjustable heights for the mower. The price was right for exploring electric mowers as a back up to a traditional rotary mower. It’s nice to have an option that doesn’t require physical oomph but also doesn’t require oil, gas, and the like!
