I have larger hands with long fingers, and the large was a perfect fit. I was planning to return the size medium, but my mom saw the gloves and liked them so much that I gave her the medium gloves to keep. They fit her smaller hands well.

The quality of the leather is high and this will make gardening easier. I love that the finger tips are reinforced because when dealing with prickly things in the garden you need extra help. The fact that these are so long makes them do a great job and protecting your forearms too. I would imagine they also are someone heat resistant if you wanted to use them for firewood and a wood stove. Being safe in the garden and having the right gloves makes these a valuable asset for any gardener.

Customer Review: I didn’t buy these to garden with, but with the idea that my large, growing puppy wouldn’t be able to bite my hands and arms, with her razor-sharp teeth, which she did constantly while playing. They worked magnificently! She cannot get to me through the glove. She’s 5 1/2 months old and 40 lbs right now so she doesn’t bite as often. But when she did, we used the gloves to redirect her chewing and/or protect our arms. Now, not only did they protect my arms, but it is also one of her favorite chew toys. She gnaws on it and flips it through the air. These have proved to be nearly indestructible. Only a little fraying in one corner and it’s been about 3 months. So, I imagine, they would be pretty good protection while gardening against thorns and prickly vegetation.

Let’s talk durability first because this is where this glove shines and why your looking at them right? You want a tough rugged glove to protect your hands! Well that’s what you get with these gloves. They are rugged I have used them to clear mesquite trees and prickly pear cactus to help build a trail. I don’t know how many times I punched or smacked a cactus or a mesquite trees. Yet I can tell you that not one single thorn got through these gloves! That’s what was most important to me. Size I have average male hands. I don’t have large hands or fat fingers. The size was perfect for me because it was not to tight but also not so lose that they moved around a lot as I worked. I will admit these gloves are very soft on the inside helping making them a more comfortable glove to have on your hands all day. I have used them as work gloves clearing brush and I have also used them as my chainsaw gloves as they work great in the summer because the cuff is so long that I can wear a short sleeve shirt and my arms are covered when I chainsaw or smash prickly pear cactus and mesquite trees. I’m going to buy a few more pair just to keep on hand as they are great gloves. Edited to add: Update they are a year old and still going strong my boss has ran through eight pair of cheap Walmart leather gloves in the same time. I was out in the South West Texas mesquite and pickley pear trimming a fire lane for our burn. I had a young very flexible mesquite tree with thorns that puncture tractor tires snap back at my face! I was luck to get my hands up even luckier because I was wearing these gloves! Now I did crush my finger and have deep bruising yet none of the throne went into my flesh! Blunt impact sucks and hurts but having to pull 1/2 inch mesquite throne from your body after it was impaled sucks more.

Customer Review: I wasn’t really expecting much from these gloves but I’ve been doing a lot of yard work clearing brush and a lot of thorny vines, and wanted something to protect my hands and arms – my regular work gloves were useless against the prickers and thorns. These gloves stopped all but the largest (1/2″ or so) of thorns and prickers. They fit well, though a little bulky, and are very serviceable for yard work. The long sleeve protects forearms as well.

I needed some gloves that offered me protection because I have a lot of sun damage skin on my arms and instead of wearing long sleeve shirts I happen to find women’s gardening reading working gloves made from leather. They’re thorn proof, there’s no stabbing from roses or cactus, they’re great for digging. They’re great for planting and pruning. The gloves measure 17.7 inches along And on me that goes from my tips of my fingers all the way to my elbows, which protects me 100% from the sun. These gloves are made with the finest thickest cowhide, and you think that they would be very heavy and bulky, but they’re not your fingers can flex easily. They’re durable very easy to work in. They offer excellent hand and arm, protection. I’ve never found any gloves that offer the quality and the thickness that these do. I’m extremely pleased with them and they come in three different sizes medium large and extra large. I was able to prune my entire rose garden without a scratch and I decided to see just how good they are. I grabbed the bottom part where most of the thorns were, and I squeezed hard and not a single thorn came off or stabbed me. I was really super impressed. Next, I tried one of my cactus plants. I transplanted it from one pot to another. I actually grabbed the cactus by the thorns and it didn’t stab me and did not come through the leather. The functionality of these gloves is that you can do anything I prune some trees. The branches stab me in the arms, but I didn’t feel it cause it didn’t go through. The price for these gloves is phenomenal. They’re very inexpensive. The quality is very high and I’m very happy with it. On the palms of the gloves, there are extra leather to protect your hands and also your fingertips. I have long natural fingernails and most of the time my fingers go through the gloves but on these Not a thing it protected my nails and the sturdy leather stayed true to form. If you have gardening work to do or working with chickens or other farm animals even laying fence and putting fence up, they won’t stab you and they have not torn and I’m very impressed.
